ABOUT radio UNLEASHED
with DAVE LEONARD

Dave Leonard, Host
Radio Unleashed host Dave Leonard has been building a loyal following for over 30 years, programming with artistic integrity since he introduced his free-form fun to WKZE as their first Program Director in 1993 and to WDST as their VP/Programming in 1996. He is known and respected by industry leaders and fans of all ages. He established his reputation by consistently curating and exposing the best new music, helping emerging artists, and demonstrating a keen sensibility of how to beautifully segue music from all genres and time periods.
Dave has endeared himself to music-loving fans with his fun personality, approachable style, and artistic integrity. His fans appreciate the way he keeps them in touch with what’s hip and ahead of the curve. He was crowdsourcing long before it became a modern marketing phenomenon.
Famous for breaking new songs and acts, Leonard supports the artists in more ways than one, hosting Woodstock’s annual Davestock, which presents up to a dozen acts each year in this increasingly popular outdoor music fest.
Dave is one of the top tastemakers in the country and brings a loyal fan base and network into any new market he enters.
Radio Unleashed currently airs in over twenty markets on Triple A and NPR radio stations.

For longer as long as Tim cares to remember, he’s been involved in music to one degree or another. At 15, he worked in his first record store (Tapeville USA) in a suburb just north of New York City. From there, he went on to Bleecker Bobs in the 80’s, DJ’ing (WFDU, various NYC venues including Irving Plaza, & Niagara in the East Village), being a roadie for Birdland (where are they now?), tour managing Hem, running US offices for Creation Records, and Setanta Records, learning artist management while working with St. Etienne and the Jesus & Mary Chain, and finally getting into digital music while at eMusic.com & Virtual Label. He’s written for, and continues to run, much of the social media for Big Takeover magazine. And he’s contributed several interviews to Perfect Sound Forever. In his spare time, he runs James Chance’s website & Facebook page, and blogs regularly at Stupefaction. He also sometimes works with music photographers Godlis and Eugene Merinov. He watches a lot of major league baseball as well as the Oakland Raiders, and walks his dog faithfully.
NORM MAGNUSSON
Norm Magnusson is an internationally acclaimed American artist. He has exhibited his work in galleries and museums around the world, and has lectured at universities and high schools across the United States. He is the founder of the art movement “Funism,” whose basic tenets are that art should be intellectually engaging without being intellectually elitist, and that art should be as much fun to look at as it is to think about. Norm writes: My task as an artist is two fold. First, I want to make something that’s pretty, beautiful even. Second, I want to tell a story, put forth a point of view, comment, cajole, illuminate…all the things that storytellers do to get someone’s attention and keep it.NELLIE HILL
