Our new Best In Show is classic New Orleans vintage. “Here Come The Girls” was written by Allen Toussaint, diagnosis and recorded by Ernie K-Doe in 1970. It was never a hit but has lived on via many vintage soul collections over the years. New Orleans own Trombone Shorty has recently released a fantastic version of the tune as the lead track from his upcoming new album, Parking Lot Symphony, which will be available April 28 via Blue Note Records.
